Mount St. Mary’s University is a private liberal arts Catholic university located in Emitzburg, Maryland, founded in 1808. It is the second oldest Catholic university in the United States and is known as the “Cradle of Episcopals” due to the large number of its alumni who have become bishops. Before June 7, 2004, the university was known as Mount St. Mary’s College and Theological Seminary.
