The International PhD & DLA Symposium is organized because it is thought that PhD & DLA students in engineering, architecture and information technology areas need a special forum in addition to their PhD & DLA programmes to present the results of their ongoing research. The past International PhD Symposia were organized between 2005-2012 and it will be important to continue this tradition.
Objectives of the PhD Symposium

  • to provide a forum for PhD & DLA students in engineering, architectural and information technology areas to present the progress of their work,
  • to discuss the results of the ongoing PhD & DLA studies in order to support the future activity,
  • to give the opportunity for PhD & DLA students to establish contact for international communication,
  • to compare PhD & DLA studies in various countries.

Venue

The Conference venue is the Pollack Mihály Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, University of Pecs.

The University is one of the largest and oldest Universities in Hungary. The address of the Faculty: University of Pecs, Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology 7624, Boszorkány 2., Pécs, Hungary.
All presentations, lunches and coffee breaks will be at this location.

The Faculty has various multifunctional halls and meeting rooms with sophisticated multimedia facilities, therefore it is an ideal place for conferences.

The Hotels are near to the symposium place. The faculty can be approached by a 15 minute walk.

The Campus of the faculty is situated in the north side of Pécs.

Conference Fee

The registration fee is 230 EUR including VAT (or 55 000 Ft +27%VAT for Hungarian participants) via bank transfer by 14th October 2013. After 14th of October the registration fee can be paid by cash at the registration desk. The fee includes taking part of the Sessions, lunch, coffee breaks and Conference dinner.
The travelling and the accommodation costs must be paid by the participants.
The fee for the optional wine tasting tour and dinner in Villány is 50 EUR.

Cancellation and refunds policy

In the event of registration cancellation, fees paid in advance are refundable – less a 30 EUR service charge – provided a written notification made by e-mail to phdsymp@pmmik.pte.hu or zseni.andrea@pmmik.pte.hu is received no later than 14 October, 2013. There will be no refunds for cancellations received after 14 October, 2013 and for no-shows.

Publication

The Abstracts of the presentations (submitted via this webpage) will be published in the Book of Abstracts only in an electronic version.

The presentations of the Symposium can be published in the Pollack Periodica.
Pollack Periodica is a prestigious professional peer-reviewed International Journal for Engineering and Information Sciences published by the Akadémiai Kiadó.
