Information about the 7th International Congress „Flour-Bread ’13“ and the 9th Croatian Congress of Cereal Technologists „Brasno-Kruh ’13.“, which will be held in Opatija, Croatia from 16-18 October 2013.

The „Flour-Bread“ congress has been organized traditionally every second year by the Faculty of Food Technology Osijek (PTFOS) and the International Association for Cereal Science and Technology (ICC). As the former „Flour-Bread“ congresses, the main aim of this congress is to feature the latest advances in cereal science and technology. The Congress will include invited lectures, oral presentations, posters and exhibition of process and laboratory equipment, cereal industry products and publications.

Copy of student ID card must be sent by e-mail to Congress Secretariat before the congress. Students must present valid student ID card at the Registration desk at the conference. Without adequate proof of student status person will not be allowed to attend the congress.

Full and student registration fee covers: admission to all scientific sessions and exhibitions; full set of Congress materials and Book of Abstracts (including oral and poster presentations) and social activities (welcome cocktail, cocktail party, congress dinner, coffee during the breaks).
Congress Proceedings will be published after the Congress and sent to all participants with full registration.

Daily registration will not include Congress dinner and Congress Proceedings.

Abstract submission

Abstracts for oral and poster presentation may be submitted through the abstract submission form (bellow) or as an attached email file sent to the Congress Secretariat before July 5, 2013. Please, indicate the way you want to present your paper (oral or poster). The Scientific Committee will decide on acceptance and on the way of presentation.

Only the abstracts where at least one author has paid full registration fee before September 15th will be published in the Abstract book. Max. 2 abstracts per registration will be considered for publication.

Abstracts (English language only) should be typed with single line spacing (12 point type Times New Roman) using the MS Word software and arranged as follows:

  • Title (in capitals).
  • Author(s) name(s), with presenter’s name underlined. The presenting author must be a registered participant of the Congress.
  • Author(s) institution(s) and addresses. For authors from several institutions, indicate the appropriate affiliations using the numerals 1, 2, 3, etc.
  • Body of the abstract (not more than 200 words).
  • Key words.

The Scientific Committee will decide on acceptance and on the way of presentation and, if the abstract has been selected for presentation, authors will receive acceptance letter before July 15, 2013.

Congress languages

The official languages of the Congress will be English and Croatian. Simultaneous translation will be provided. The speakers are kindly asked to submit a printed copy of the presentation at the Congress Registration Desk for the preparation of simultaneous translation, at least two hours before the start of the relevant session.
